Dougarie Lodge dates back to the mid-19th century when the late Duke of Hamilton chose Dougarie to build his summerhouse (their main island residence was Brodick Castle). Various farms and cottages were added over the years.
Today, the Dougarie estate is managed as a traditional sporting estate offering hunting, shooting, fishing and golf together with a number of self-catering holiday properties. The boathouse is available to hire for private events.
