Susan was born and grew up in Stirling. She then studied Landscape Architecture at Edinburgh College of Art and worked in that area for several years.
There then followed a break to bring up her three children. It was while at home in Glasgow she was able to develop her lifelong love of painting, particularly of the landscape. She is especially fond of the beautiful colours and wildness of the Scottish islands.
Susan has been coming to Arran on holiday for as long as she can remember. Even her parents visited the island when they were small children. Now with a cottage in Brodick she returns as often as she can, to escape and be inspired.
