Artist Statement
The inspiration for my paintings has always been the Scottish landscape, and in particular, the beauty of the Scottish coastline which I try to capture in my work. I paint using oils or acrylics, with most of my recent work in acrylics.

My family were originally from the Island of Bute and my parents lived in Dunoon before moving up to Glasgow. Many of my fondest childhood memories are of holidays spent in Argyll and the Inner Hebrides as well as on the Isle of Arran.

I now live and work in North Ayrshire and feel a strong connection to the beautiful island of Arran, as well as the rugged shorelines of Argyll.

I love the colour and light of Scotland's western coasts; the quiet and remote beaches are a constant source of inspiration and it is this I try to reflect in my paintings.
