Painting
Arran Art Gallery is for people from all over the world that have an affinity with the beautiful Isle of Arran.
Cara McKinnon
Crawford’s inherent gift in the handling of oils was honed during her Glasgow
School of Art training, with her profession developing extensively over the
ensuing forty years.
Recognised internationally
as an exponent of the great Scottish Colourist tradition her intuitive mastery
in the handling of light and colour has naturally resulted in her work being
collected and shown extensively, with a client base from the Scottish
Parliament to Exxon Mobile and many Private Collections worldwide.
As a full time
practising artist for so many years and a canvas extending from her native
Highland roots across Europe, a Cara McKinnon Crawford oil painting is
instantly recognizable for its true representation of the artist’s vision.
However, her palette is never restricted or confined by subject matter, fashion
or influence.
Cara is a painter who continues the rare
practise of painting on site, pushing the boundaries and actively seeking out
new subjects, she describes Scotland as her canvas.
To own a piece of
her work is to invest in a permanent Scottish Colourist tradition.
