'The String' is a road that crosses the centre of the island to the west coast and Blackwaterfoot. It climbs to a height of 230m, giving good views of Arran's highest mountain Goatfell. The views of the hills and on the return journey of the Ayrshire coast are spectacular.

Winter Opening Hours 2021
In line with the Scottish Government Level 4 restrictions, the gallery ihas been temporarily closed but we plan to reopen the gallery on Monday 26th April 2021 from 10am until 5pm (closed for lunch 1-1.30pm) 7 days a week.
In the meantime, our online gallery is always open, so you can shop from the safety of your home and we will continue to deliver the best possible service. Please follow this link to view the work of over 80 talented artists who are inspired by the magnificent scenery of the Isle of Arran.
