Anne was employed as a full-time professional singer with Scottish Opera for 20 years (singing under the name of Ann McLellan-Scott) until 2005. At this turning point in her life and looking for something to satisfy her creative spirit, Anne was encouraged by her family (both her sisters are artist and exhibit in the Arran Art Gallery) to try painting. From this small beginning, the love of painting has become a passion.
Anne finds painting a picture very similar to singing a beautiful song, trying to produce rich tones, interesting colours, strong dynamic contrasts, attention to small detail and of course a lot of soul.
Anne has been coming to Arran since childhood and never fails to appreciate the beauty and inspiration of the island.
