Tim has many interests. He enjoys the precision in machined objects that has appeared in his work in the past. 'Screwhead', 'Breech Block' are only two examples. 'Poppy Gear I' is a comingling of interests.
The architecture of the poppy seed head combined with the geometry of a machined gear. The piece gives is the inference of latent power/energy. Gear I' is made from the best polished Cumbrian slate. The Kirkby Blue Slate comes from Burlington quarries in Kirkby-in-Furness. It is the 'Rolls Royce' of slate. This piece is approx. 30cm high x 18cm at the widest.
